How to Decorate Your New Room

Are you moving into a new room because a sibling went to college? Or has your family relocated and now you have a chance to decorate an entirely new room?

Think about what you liked, and didn't like, about your old room.

Look at your new room. What do you like, and what don't you like, about the new room?

See if you can transfer any of the things you loved about your old room into your new room. Some things, like having a cozy little reading nook in the corner , can be recreated; other things, like having a huge walk-in closet, might not be.

Look at magazines and other peoples rooms to get ideas.

Tips

• Don't crowd your room. Make sure you have a lot of space in the middle of your room so you can play or read or a place for someone to sleep.
